Participation of the Occupational Standards Center (OSC) in the Regional Workshop on the Gulf Guide for Occupational Classification and Description

Over two consecutive days (3-5/ 03/2019) The Gulf Statistics Center at its premises (Muscat – Al-Seeb) organized a regional workshop on the Gulf Guide for Classification and Occupational Characterization in cooperation with the Executive Office of the Council of Labor Ministers and the Council of Ministers of Social Affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council states. in this context. The workshop aims to support the national statistical agencies in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in applying the unified international and regional classifications and standards, through building and developing the capabilities and competence of their workers in statistical evidence and classifications, especially professional classification and description, in addition to introducing the components of the Gulf Guide for Occupational Classification and Description

The Occupational Standards Center (OSC), represented by its director, Dr. Mohamad Mustafa Al-Najjar, has participated in two working papers entitled “The Mechanism for Preparing Professional Descriptions and How to Apply them, The Role of Occupational Standards in Developing and Updating Professional Descriptions.” Professional standards in this context and its various applications, the workers in the statistical centers, bodies and agencies in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries participated in the regional workshop on statistical classification, in addition to workers in the administrative source authorities concerned with the classification of professions and labor statistics.
