An Introductory Seminar on the Role of Sector Skills Units in Supporting a Sustainable System for Developing Professional Skills

On Sunday, (17-11-2019), The Occupational Standards Center (OSC) organized at Crowne Plaza (Muscat – Qurum) in cooperation with the Omani Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) an introductory seminar on “The Role of Sectoral Skills Units in Supporting a Sustainable System for Professional Skills Development”, to start applying one of the economic program initiatives (TANFEEDH) concerned By establishing a sustainable system for developing skills by forming entities known as sectoral skill units that are representative of the various economic sectors in the Sultanate to be their voice in the aspects concerned with professional skills and competencies to meet the requirements of the Omani economy.  The workshop was attended by representatives of the ministries of oil and gas and Manpower and a number of other ministries and major companies in the Sultanate’s oil and gas sector and members of technical teams for the (TANFEEDH) initiatives, in addition to officials from the Center for Occupational Standards and the Omani Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL).
