Participation of the Occupational Standards Center (OSC) in Oman Forum

On Monday, (23-12-2019), the Economist and Business World magazine organized the Seventh Session of the Oman Forum at the Crown Plaza Hotel (Muscat – Qurum) under the title (Discussing Ways to Bridge the Supply and Demand Gap in Skills) to discuss promoting innovation and creativity in the entrepreneurial sector through a number of specialized work papers in this context. The Director of the Occupational Standards Center (OSC), Dr. Mohamad Mustafa Al-Najjar participated in a working paper entitled “The Occupational Standards Center – Towards a Sustainable system for Developing Skills”, in which he presented the most important work of the center, the process of developing a national occupational standards package, and the main roles of the sectoral skills unit, which is embodied in preparing the occupational map and labor market analysis studies, preparing national occupational standards packages in cooperation and coordination with the various economic sectors in the Sultanate, the proposed mechanism for preparing national occupational standards applications and granting licenses to practice the profession in cooperation and coordination with all sectors, and how to support the labor market for sectoral skill units. The event was sponsored by His Excellency Badr Nasser Al-Jabri, Vice-Chairman of the Youth and Human Resources Committee of the Shura Council.
