The central register/database of NOS-based Qualification Profiles (QP) contains all current QPs developed by all Sector Skills Units (SSUs) and approved by the Occupational Standards Center (OSC).
The register/database of QP is developed and governed by the OSC. QPs registered in this register/database are available for public and private training providers, employers, learners and other stakeholders to access freely, regardless of their sector/industry/area of activity.
Each QP is identified with a unique registration number in the QP register/database. This is made up of several letters and numbers with the first 2 letters referring to the sector/industry code, the next letter “Q” characterizing the QP, then the next 3 digit numbers reflecting the QP registry number and the final 2 digit numbers reflecting the level of the QP in the Oman Qualifications Framework (OQF). As an example, a QP with a unique registration number such as “OG-Q00104” was developed by the oil and gas (OG) sector/industry as a QP (Q) that has the QP register number (001) and corresponds to level 4 (04) in the OQF.
The graphical representation of the coding system for NOS-based Qualification Profiles are provided below:
The register/database will always show the most current QPs as whenever QPs are updated they will replace the previous versions. These older QPs will be archived and removed from the QP register/database
ALL developed QPs will be published on this register/database and websites of the respective Sector Skills Units.
